Quality Control Of Fiber Optical Cable

All the fiber optic cables supplied by GL FIBER's Step-By-Step Quality Control: Attenuation Testing, Water Penetration Testing, Temperature Cycling Testing, Repeated Bending Testing, Bending And Torsion Testing, Vibration Testing, tensile strength testing, etc.

Attenuation Testing

GL FIBER' fiber optic cable and fiber attenuation will be tested during each steps of cabling from bear fibers, loose tube twisting to cabling.
Tensile Loading Test

Test method for the measurement of Tensile loading of an optical cable and fiber therein. This is determined as a function of load to ensure that the cable or fiber strain and attenuation does not exceed the specified level during installation and subsequent use and no physical damage. An assessment of the cables ability to withstand the load without detriment to its component parts or function is also made.
Water Penetration Testing

GL Test Method for the measurement of the water penetration resistance properties of optical fiber cables. This determines the suitability of a cable to resist the passage of water along its internal length over the service life of the cable when a cross section of the cable is exposed to a fixed head of water, the water will attempt to seek the path of lowest resistance. Effective blocking of this path will ensure that water does not penetrate along the cable to cause damage and reduce the service life of the cable. At the end of period, no water shall have leaked from the opposite end.
Temperature Cycling Test

GL FIBER' Test Method for the determination of the behavior of optical fiber cable when subjected to changes in temperature. This is determined by measuring the relative change in attenuation of the optical fiber with in the cable as a function of temperature. An assessment of the cables ability to withstand the load without detriment to its component parts or function is also made.
Cycling Flexing/Repeated Bending Testing

This section describes a Reference Test Method for the measurement of the flexing on optical cable and fibre therein by GL CABLES. This shall be determined by the attenuation change when subjected to flexing 180° forward to backward direction of a mandrel with predetermined diameter. An assessment of the cables ability to withstand the load without detriment to its component parts or function is also made.
Bending And Torsion Testing

GL FIBER' Test Method for the measurement of the bending on optical cable and fiber therein. This shall be determined by the attenuation change when subjected to bending half turn (U–bend) around a mandrel of predetermined diameter. An assessment of the cables ability to withstand the load without detriment to its component parts or function is also made.
Tensile Strength Testing

The fiber attenuation should stay in safe range during pulling cable by specific tension strength of different cables.
Vibration Testing

The cable and fiber comprehensive performance should be stable during vibration 10 mins in 50HZ frequency.
