ACSR Cable Cross Section and Technical Data
Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced Used as bare overhead transmission cable and as primary and secondary distribution cable. ACSR offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity.

GL's bare ACSR conductors can meet any international Standard including ASTM, BS, DIN, IEC, NFC etc.

ACSR is a concentrically stranded conductor composed of one or more layers of hard-drawn 1350H19 aluminum wire stranded with a high strength coated steel core. The core maybe single wire or stranded depending on the size. The proportions of aluminum and steel can be varied to obtain the relation between current-carrying capacity and mechanical strength best suited to each application. Core wire for ACSR is available with Class A, B or C galvanized; "aluminized"(AZ); or aluminum clad (AW). Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core or complete cable with grease.
